Morning remembrance

Muslim

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

Asbahna wa asbahal-mulku lillah, wal-hamdu lillah

We have entered the morning and the whole kingdom belongs to Allah, and all praise is for Allah.

Evening remembrance

Muslim

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

Amsayna wa amsal-mulku lillah, wal-hamdu lillah

We have entered the evening and the whole kingdom belongs to Allah, and all praise is for Allah.

Seeking well-being

Abu Dawud

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah

O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the next.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ

Bismillah

In the name of Allah.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَٰذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ

Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi at'amani hadha wa razaqanihi

Praise be to Allah who fed me this and provided it for me.

Sleeping & Waking

Adhkar for lying down to sleep and rising in the morning.

Before sleeping

Bukhari

بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا

Bismika Allahumma amutu wa ahya

In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.

Waking up

Bukhari

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur

Praise be to Allah who gave us life after death, and to Him is the resurrection.

Travel

Supplications for setting out and returning safely from a journey.

Before travelling

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ

Subhanal-ladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin

Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have accomplished it.

Returning from travel

Bukhari

آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ

Ayibuna ta'ibuna 'abiduna li rabbina hamidun

We return, repentant, worshipping and praising our Lord.

Entering the home

Abu Dawud

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا

Bismillahi walajna wa bismillahi kharajna wa 'ala Allahi rabbina tawakkalna

In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and upon Allah our Lord we rely.

Leaving the home

Abu Dawud

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

Bismillahi tawakkaltu 'ala Allah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah

In the name of Allah, I rely upon Allah; there is no might nor power except with Allah.

Tirmidhi

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

Rabbighfir li wa tub 'alayya innaka antat-tawwabur-rahim

My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance; You are the Ever-Relenting, the Most Merciful.

Seeking refuge from evil

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

A'udhu bi kalimatil-lahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq
